Today I finally submitted my finished BEAR brief. Overall, I'm really pleased with the outcome of this brief as I enjoyed creating all of the illustration. I think it really makes a difference to the quality of your work when you really enjoy doing something. However, I do feel that in hindsight I could have worked more on coming up with a unique concept as having seen other entries a lot of people seem to have used the ocean and ocean life as a basis for their cards. I tried to push it further by offering a partnership and a game idea. Although I am confident in my visuals that I have created I'm worried my concept will fall flat.
See below for a copy of my final presentation boards.
Strengths & What I liked
I think that my illustration in this project really shone through, creating friendly, approachable designs for children. I really enjoyed this new target audience of designing for children, meaning I could make every element of the design as playful as possible.
Weaknesses & What I didn’t like
I do feel that in hindsight I could have worked more on coming up with a unique concept as having seen other entries a lot of people seem to have used the ocean and ocean life as a basis for their cards.
Time Management
I handled my time really well during this brief I think mainly because I enjoyed doing it. I managed to go above and beyond the deliverables of the brief, providing a website design and game idea as well as the 3 cards that they had asked for.
Final Outcome
Overall, I’m really pleased with the outcome of this brief as I enjoyed creating all of the illustrations. I think it really makes a difference to the quality of your work when you really enjoy doing something. I tried to push the brief further by offering a partnership and a game idea. I hope that the online game will get more engagement for the children, making them feel part of the BEAR academy.
