This flatpack design was created for the Merrion Centre in Leeds, promoting the use of technology and development in robotic technology. The interactivity of this robot is exactly what we were planning with creating visual memories and we were thinking we could recreate hellboy in this format to create a talking point.
Next we looked at some inspiration for the poster designs as this will be the main way of promoting the event. Saul Bass is one of the most classic and influential graphic designers. His style is very distinctive and cut out - bold, passionate and influential, one key thing we noticed about his designs is that his film posters are incredibly effective the information is clear and striking but so is the artwork. Take his Anatomy of a Murder poster, where he creates this iconic illustration in the centre of the poster and provides all the information at the bottom. We also noticed the limited colour scheme that he uses in all of his posters - we decided that we should also keep our colour palettes quite limited to maybe 2 or 3 colours.
